Performative Goodness Does Not Equate To Spiritual Goodness.

You know the type. Outward acts of goodness, all of which are inherently self-serving, make a morally upstanding person.  The Vlogger who films him/herself helping the homeless vs the person who quietly donates and volunteers their time in soup kitchens. Is there room for the vlogger? Sure but who wants to have a relationship with this person! Do you deal with a person like this?

Meditation: Ask yourself if you feel morally superior about anything? What is the first thing that pops into your mind? This is about morals not about skills or talents. Breathe. What could you be running towards or from?

Discussion: “As long as you believe that you dwell in a universe that is a threat, you must defend yourself against it. As long as you believe that the self is flawed and that the race is doomed and evil, you must defend yourself against yourself.” “Psychic Politics: an Aspects psychology book”, Chapter 27, by Jane Roberts.

Disingenuous morality eventually becomes powerless. It is simply a faulty weapon to protect your sense of a bad or evil self.  Performative goodness, or an inauthentic act of kindness, is not equivalent to true spiritual goodness. Therefore not worth practicing. This inauthentic kindness will always rear it’s ugly head showing the truth and most people can see this already.
